If the library patron needs absolute quiet, the only location that would meet that need is the Pritchard Information Commons located on the 2nd floor of the Moody library behind the elevators. It’s a nice space with carpeted floors, some areas with living room type furniture, and some familiar long library worktables. No talking is the rule there, so that if there is any talking at all, the student may make a request to Library security for immediate assistance. There are several ways to contact Library security: The student may call the Baylor DPS non-emergency dispatch number at 254-710-2211, but that is difficult in the moment sitting among other students. Two better ways of contacting Baylor non-emergency dispatch is through email: Dispatch@baylor.edu or by texting, using a free downloadable phone app called BU Campus Guardian: https://www.baylor.edu/dps/index.php?id=973173. Most students are already familiar with this app.
Library security is overseen by Baylor DPS and dispatch is monitored 24 hours a day. Library security is on site all hours that the library is open.
