Q. Are we allowed to check out books over the break?

Students are permitted to keep books out over the break (and check out new books) provided that they are registered and enrolled at Baylor for the following semester.

There is a short delay between the end of the semester and record turnover in the library system that requires updates to registration information to be reflected in library user accounts. That update usually takes place 2-3 business days after the end of finals.
After that point, users should be able to renew books online as usual. Renewals can be made from the library homepage under the Access Your Library Account link.
