You can find autobiographies and biographies in BearCat by typing in the person's name (preferably first and last name) and adding the word biography. Here's an example: Nelson Mandela biography.

You will be able to tell autobiographies from biographies by looking at the author's name - if the author is Nelson Mandela, the work is an autobiography; if the author is someone else, the work is a biography.

You may also see the words "authorized biography" in the title - that means that Nelson Mandela, for example, has given the author of the biography (Anthony Sampson, in this case), exclusive interviews and/or access to private papers that no one else but Mandela has access to.

If you aren't looking for a book-length biography, there are other options to look for - check with the Jones Information Desk for national biography collections by country, like American National Biography.
