Note: sometimes the offending command will be 'show' or 'xshow' or 'cvi'.

This error is the result of a bad postscript command from a document printed by MacOS.

Try the following:

  1. Upgrade to the latest version of MacOS,
  2. Change all the file's fonts to one installed on your laptop,
  3. Print from Adobe Acrobat (or Acrobat Reader),
  4. Print from a PC,
  5. Print from a Mac that is running a different version of MacOS.
