Note: sometimes the offending command will be 'xshow'.

This is a known bug with Mac 10.13 High Sierra. Try the following:

  1. Upgrade to the latest version of MacOS,
  2. Change all the file's fonts to one installed on your laptop,
  3. Print from Adobe Acrobat (or Acrobat Reader),
  4. Print from a PC,
  5. Print from a Mac that is not running 10.13 High Sierra.
